Investing in the future of his community

When the opportunity for Bill Reed to be able to invest in the betterment of his local community presented itself, he didn’t hesitate. Bill, who serves on the board of directors for Baptist Health Floyd, has been one of the biggest cheerleaders for the healthcare organization even before he took on a formal role.

When Baptist Health Foundation Floyd became the official philanthropic arm of the regional hospital, the public, like Bill, gained the opportunity to begin making donations toward hospital initiatives aimed at expanding access, growing innovation, developing new programs, improving the patient experience, and improving the well-being of the entire community through health education and programs.

“Baptist Health Floyd is doing great things,” said Bill. “They are saving lives every single day. The commitment from Baptist Health to help our community advance by bringing in the newest technology and equipment is helping us to bring southern Indiana to the next level and ensuring we have the ability to care for future generations of our friends, family and neighbors.”

Bill believes in the Christ-centered mission that is at the center of Baptist Health’s plan for the future and day-to-day activities. “Baptist Health Foundation Floyd is dedicated solely to supporting our hospital. It is a key to a strong local economy, and it allows us to take care of our own people during the best and worst times of their lives.”

Bill was the first donor to Baptist Health Foundation Floyd, and he credits his support to an inherent need to invest in the care and future of his home community.

“Philanthropic support is a vital component to the success of our hospital,” said Bill. “Through the generosity of individuals and organizations, we are enabling the hospital to do more and advance faster with investments in technology and patient care. From robotic surgery to our newly formed Neonatal Intensive Care unit we are thriving, and by coming together we have the ability to become the premier hospital in southern Indiana, further propelling the growth and success of our community and the health of those who reside within it.”
