Cardiac Rehab is an exercise program designed for patients with heart disease, heart failure, different types of heart events that qualifies them for this program. It's an exercise program that incorporates diet, exercise, smoking cessation, medication adherence, encompasses all those things. That way we can teach patients how to live a heart healthy lifestyle after a heart event. You get to see patients come in day one with boundaries and walls and they're terrified. You call it kinesiphobia. They're afraid to exercise.
But when you see them drop their walls and they get to know you and you build relationships with these patients, you really get rewarded in those regards. It's just a wonderful place to be and there's never a bad day in cardiac rehab. Philanthropy has been a huge component to cardiac rehab. Our cardiac rehab here at Baptist Health Lexington would not be what it is today without the donors and the foundation. I can talk about numerous things that community members have donated for our cardiac rehab. Our monitoring system, treadmills, different types of other equipment, this brand new remodel that we're blessed to be a part of. It has truly changed access that we can give patients and we can do more things for patients.
Thank you for giving to the foundation. Thank you for supporting programs like cardiac rehab. And with the support of the donors, of the foundation, support of physicians and administration, cardiac rehab here at Baptist Health Lexington has expanded, it's grown, and you can tell it's a cared for program. Our team here at Cardiac Rehab couldn't be more blessed for the donors and what they've given us, the community, and the patients that we care for day to day.
