In the bustling halls of a physician's office, amid the stacks of paperwork and the flurry of administrative tasks, Jamie Harness felt a stirring within her—a yearning to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Despite the daily grind, her heart was set on a higher purpose, fueled by a deep-seated desire to bring hope and guidance to those facing the daunting journey of healthcare challenges.

“As I was growing up, I witnessed the struggles of loved ones grappling with cancer diagnoses, and it inspired me to be a resource for others navigating similar experiences,” said Jamie. “Through the fear, I want to be a beacon of hope that can help them to overcome uncertainty to take control of their health and have the confidence to make decisions that will directly affect their future.”

Now the executive director of oncology for Baptist Health Louisville and Baptist Health La Grange, Jamie is doing just that. Through a partnership with Baptist Health Foundation Greater Louisville, Jamie has pioneered a cancer symposium that brings together physicians and providers to learn about new therapies, treatments and initiatives in cancer care.

This symposium isn't merely a gathering of medical professionals; it's a catalyst for change, a platform where top experts from across the nation meet to share insights and advancements in cancer care. Through the unwavering support of the community, providers from nine Baptist Health hospitals unite to immerse themselves in cutting-edge therapies and groundbreaking treatments.
