baptist health foundation lexington

Throughout history, Kentucky’s Baptist hospitals have been rooted in philanthropy. When the state’s first Baptist hospital opened in Louisville in 1924, community members helped to furnish patients rooms, even sewing sheets and pillowcases for the beds. Funding for the Lexington hospital, which opened in 1954, was a true collective effort from varied sources such as rallies, door-to-door campaigns, and dimes gathered during Sunday School collections.

The Baptist Health Foundation Lexington continues this heritage of service and leadership by fostering partnerships to further enhance the quality medical care at Baptist Health Lexington.

Donations to the Foundation help our physicians, staff and other care providers go beyond the medical needs of our patients.

Private support provides funds for new facilities, advanced technology and equipment, and specialized training for physicians, nurses and staff. It also provides funds for complementary therapies, support groups, community health screenings and extra services that make a patient’s hospital stay more comfortable.
