Philanthropy makes a difference in a big way here at Baptist LaGrange. It gives us an opportunity to advance our care quicker for our patients and bring our dreams to life. We have caregivers coming here every day giving it their all to make sure that we ultimately give the best care possible to our community. And so when we have a community member coming alongside us and saying, we believe in you, we know what you're doing, and we want to help you with this, giving us a donation and and supporting what we're doing is very special.
I can think of many examples where, philanthropy has had an impact, but a couple that really stand out are some on a really large scale and some are just as impactful on a much smaller scale. On a large scale, I think about the four million dollar gift that we got to expand and renovate our emergency department to really bring that dream to life much quicker than we could have done without philanthropy.
On the other hand, I think about the babies that are being born here in LaGrange every day, and sometimes those babies need a little extra help and resources, as they get discharged and go home, with their family. And so we're able to make sure that some of those families have those resources that they need. It's through philanthropy that we're able to do that. I think about philanthropy in the health care world, and what's great about it is when we donate with a giving heart in health care, we don't necessarily know who it's going to impact.
It impacts our community, but it's gonna impact somebody's loved one. And so when somebody sees what we're doing here in the community, what our vision is for health in our community, and they give, it truly is humbling. And we take that, as an opportunity for us to do the very best with those dollars right here in our community, to make sure that, the patients benefit from the donation that was made. So I would simply like to say thank you to our donors overall.
You're a very special part of what we're doing here to improve the community that we serve and the health of the community that we serve. You are a key part and vital in what we're doing to make sure that we have a good, healthy, and thriving community. So thank you.
