Making it easier for patients to receive care

When considering how to put his advanced knowledge of physics to use, Robert Gandy, learned about a healthcare role where he could use his unique skillset to not only earn a living but actively help improve the health of those around him. Currently serving as the Chief Medical Physicist overseeing the technical aspects of radiation treatment delivery, Robert is involved directly with the planning and quality control of precision treatments.

“Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate the significant role Baptist Health plays in improving the life of this community,” Robert said. “Baptist Health has been an outstanding employer and healthcare provider in my experience. I believe in this organization’s vision and the important services it provides.” 

Through his work with Baptist Health Paducah, Robert was introduced to Baptist Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the hospital that works to reduce barriers to care, allow for the advancement of technology and medical facilities and enhance the overall patient experience. 
“Giving to the Foundation is really an extension of my goal as a medical physicist to provide high quality care to our radiotherapy patients,” Robert said. “It allows me to support projects beyond the scope of my profession.” 

Robert views his philanthropic support as an extension of his goal as a medical physicist to provide high quality care for his patients. “The Baptist Health Foundation allows me to give something back that will be of enduring benefit to our patients and their families. Giving to the Baptist Health Foundation allows your contribution to go a long way toward enhancing the quality of healthcare in our local community which includes elevating the patient experience.”
