Known for her compassion and infectious humor, Karlyle Young was a beacon of goodness in the world. She wasn't just a cherished mother, wife, and friend; she embodied hope and resilience, touching countless lives with her unwavering spirit.

Throughout her battle with multiple forms of cancer, enduring rounds of radiation, countless infusions of chemotherapy, and the loss of her hair more than once, Karlyle's courage never wavered. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, she never failed to bring a smile to those around her.

Karlyle often brushed off her own heroism, insisting she was "regular," but to everyone else, she was the epitome of a fighter.

“There are rare individuals whose impact transcends words, and Karlyle was one of them,” said LeAnn Jones, executive director of oncology services. “Her influence reached far beyond our community, touching lives across the entire commonwealth."

In a testament to her lasting legacy, Karlyle's medical team united to establish a fund at the Baptist Health Corbin Cancer Center in her honor. This fund will provide crucial support to cancer patients, ensuring Karlyle's compassionate spirit continues to uplift and empower others from diagnosis through survivorship.
