A lifetime of care at Baptist Health Paducah
Baptist Health Paducah has been a part of Callie Foster’s life from the beginning — literally.
“I was born at Baptist Health Paducah 30 years ago. I have lived in Paducah most of my life and have had a front-row seat to watch the hospital’s evolution as one of our region’s finest healthcare facilities,” she says.
Callie gave birth to all three of her children at Baptist Health Paducah and says she can’t help but smile every time she’s near the labor and delivery floor. And though she experienced a challenging labor with her youngest son, Caleb, she credits “the amazing nursing staff” for the ways they ensured a positive birthing experience.
Ten days later, Callie experienced a serious health scare but says she received “excellent care” from Baptist Health OB/GYN Blair Tolar, MD, who performed an emergency surgery in the middle of the night. “He checked on me daily and made sure I was recovering well and could enjoy those first few magical weeks with my son. I am so grateful to him for his attentive care.”
Not only is Callie grateful for the quality care she’s received at Baptist Health, she appreciates the hospital’s commitment to serving all of western Kentucky — McCracken County and beyond. It’s why she supports the Baptist Health Foundation.
“A good healthcare system is essential to a progressive community, and Baptist Health plays a large role in the growth and betterment of our community,” says Callie, a local real estate agent and communications adviser for her family’s business, Jim Smith Contracting.
“My husband and I are both passionate about serving this community and appreciate the role Baptist Health plays in that. My hope is that by giving financially to this organization they will continue growing and bringing the best healthcare practices through medical innovations, premier facilities and, of course, through attracting the finest practitioners possible to our community to serve our people.”
