Why are you volunteering your time to serve as chairman on the Baptist Health Foundation Hardin Board? For me, community health is of utmost importance. Growing up in Paragould, Arkansas, my parents were instrumental in establishing the local community hospital. In addition, my mother was a hospital volunteer and my father served on the hospital board. Giving back to the healthcare of my community is practically in my DNA.
Why is it important for you to give back to the community? Though I didn’t make my way to Hardin County until 1999, this community is now home to me. As such, I believe it’s important to use my time and resources to help ensure this community is the best it can be, from healthcare to economic development.
What does gratitude mean to you and what are you grateful for? When I think of the word “gratitude,” I think of my wife Dana, my children, my grandchildren and the Hardin County community at-large. I’m grateful for this community and that it has such an exceptional healthcare system in Baptist Health Hardin.
