Why do you volunteer in the community? It is important to give back to the community not only with financial support but also by volunteering to help worthy organizations carry out missions that are beneficial to so many.

What is the role that healthcare has played in your life or the lives of your family, friends or neighbors? My parents received excellent healthcare from Baptist Hospital East and a number of Baptist Health doctors during their lives. The level of professional and personal care my parents received made their lives better and my appreciation of their work a positive and everlasting memory. We all benefit from having a dynamic healthcare system, whether we are currently using the services or know that we may need them in the future; peace of mind can also be a healer.

How is gratitude different than being thankful? Gratitude is a greater sense of appreciation, which includes being thankful, and a readiness to show that appreciation by a return of kindness and recognition of something positive, whether tangible or intangible.
