How was volunteerism encouraged in your family or community? My church growing up was very active in serving the community so I learned the value of helping others from an early age. Throughout high school and college, my parents encouraged me to participate in mission trips when I had the opportunity. By helping on several construction projects in different parts of the country where poverty was high and the need was great, I saw first-hand that many life-improving or life-saving projects simply won't happen without people that are willing to volunteer their time and resources.
How does healthcare support a thriving community? Paducah is a shining example of why quality healthcare is an essential ingredient to an economically and culturally thriving community. The services offered bring dollars to the community, those dollars lead to high paying jobs, those jobs bring intelligent, educated community members whose leadership and community involvement supports the overall well-being of the community.
How can gratitude help heal you spiritually, physically and emotionally? I'm a firm believer in the idea that a person's mindset alters their reality the same way that a filter can alter an image. Choose the right filter to get the best outcomes.
