Interim President, Baptist Health Corbin

Matt Bailey is interim president of Baptist Health Corbin, a 273-bed hospital serving residents of Whitley, Knox, Laurel, Bell, Jackson, Clay, McCreary and Harlan counties in Kentucky, and Jellico, Tennessee. The hospital is part of Baptist Health, a Louisville-based healthcare system with more than 23,000 employees in its facilities across Kentucky and southern Indiana.

Bailey is a seasoned healthcare administrator with more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry in Indiana. In recent years, he has served as interim president for Baptist Health Paducah and Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.

Prior to the Baptist Health roles, Bailey served as president of Indiana University Health’s South Central Region in Bloomington. In that role, he was responsible for strategic transformation and leadership for five IU Health entities, including oversight of performance excellence for patient safety, clinical excellence, financial stewardship and workforce engagement.

While at IU Health, he directed and secured approval of a $384 million regional academic health center on Indiana University's campus.

Bailey began his healthcare career as an internal auditor for Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana, rising to become president and CEO. He then became president and CEO for IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana.

A graduate of Indiana University, Bailey earned a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota and participated in IU’s Hoosier Fellows program. He is Green Belt certified in Lean Six Sigma, a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, and an engaged community leader who has served on numerous state, regional and local boards.

Bailey is a long-time Indiana resident and has two grown children.
