Professional photographer Bill Fortney describes himself as a child at heart who’s always up for an adventure—like flying an ultralight aircraft cross-country to take stunning aerial photos. Though he’s officially retired, slowing down wasn’t part of the plan.

Then came the chest pains he couldn’t ignore.

“One morning I was here at the house, and I started really having a lot of pressure in my chest,” said the longtime Corbin resident. Hoping to be reassured, he called his daughter, Catherine, a practice manager with Baptist Health Corbin’s Heart Care team. “I really didn’t want to go to the hospital, but she said, ‘Dad, get your you-know-what in here.’ It saved my life.”
