For Alan Coppock, choosing to support Baptist Health Corbin was a no-brainer. From the birth of his five children to the beginning of his career, each milestone points back to his local hospital.

“The ability to give back to Baptist Health Corbin closes an important loop,” he says. “Many of the most important things in my life took place here, and the ability to preserve this asset of amazing healthcare in our community for current and future generations is something I feel called to be a part of.”

Through Alan’s career, he transitioned from vice president for support services at Baptist Health Corbin to leading the creation and implementation of long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH) in Corbin, Madisonville and Paducah.

“I worked for many years to assist in improving care for the high-acuity, highly complex patient population,” he says. “Once the foundation is laid and facilities are up and running, it doesn’t lessen the importance of helping those around us to get the medical care they need, when they need it. By giving back, I am helping to pave the way for innovative, compassionate care in our community and ensuring that regardless of financial barriers, everyone can access the care they need without having the added stress of leaving what they consider home.”

As a member of the Baptist Health Foundation Corbin board of directors, Alan is well-versed in the vision of local healthcare and how it will continue to transform to better meet the needs of the region.

“Our community is hungry for world-class care. Baptist Health Corbin is poised to deliver that. It is common for those in eastern Kentucky to have to settle for whatever is available in rural settings while watching urban areas continue to develop, but Baptist Health doesn’t see things that way. They are invested in allowing our rural area to have the service lines, providers and equipment it needs to provide the same quality care you can find in any big city — and that is something I am proud to be a part of.”
